01 — The weave
A flat blanket is a single barrier — warm or too warm. The waffle grid holds pockets of air that insulate but also let moisture out, which is why it works across seasons.
02 — The fibre
Wool is warmer but most people find it heavy against skin. Long-staple cotton gives you the breathability with none of the itch.
03 — The size
A blanket that only just covers the mattress looks mean and slides off at night. 230 cm across gives a real drop on both sides.
