The ice
Is this really the soft chewable ice?
Yes. An auger shaves flakes off a chilled cylinder and compacts them into nuggets, so they crunch instead of cracking. It is the same texture as the ice from a drive-through soda machine — not crushed cubes from a freezer tray.
How long until the first ice?
About fifteen minutes from a cold start. After that it keeps producing until the bin is full, up to roughly 38 lbs across a full day.
Does the ice stay frozen?
The bin is insulated but it is not a freezer. Ice that sits will slowly melt, and the machine recycles that meltwater into new nuggets, so nothing is wasted. In normal use it simply keeps topping itself up.
Setup and space
Do I need a water line?
No. You fill the 64 oz side tank by hand and plug the machine into a standard outlet. There is nothing to install and nothing to connect.
Will it fit under my cabinets?
It is 17.3 in tall, 15.5 in deep and 10.5 in wide. Standard upper cabinets sit about 18 in above the counter, so it fits — but measure the depth, because it is deeper than most people expect from photos.
How loud is it?
Comparable to a refrigerator. You hear a low hum while it cycles and the sound of nuggets dropping into the bin.
Care
How do I clean it?
Press the self-clean button and it runs a cycle on its own. Every couple of months add a packet of descaling powder to the water first.
How often do filters need changing?
About every three months in normal water, sooner if yours is hard. If the ice starts tasting of anything, change the filter first — that is almost always the cause.
Buying
How long does delivery take?
Orders leave the warehouse in 1–2 business days and arrive in 5–8. Shipping is free on the ice maker and you get a tracking link the moment the parcel is handed over.
What if I do not get on with it?
Send it back within 30 days in its original packaging for a full refund. You do not have to explain why. If it arrived faulty, return shipping is on us.
What does the warranty cover?
Two years against manufacturing defects — compressor, auger, electronics and controls. See the warranty page for the detail.
