01 — The wash
Why pre-washed matters
Raw linen is stiff and shrinks on the first cycle. Stonewashing does the shrinking and the softening at the factory, so what you unwrap is what you keep.
02 — The insert
Buy one size up
A 50 cm cover on a 50 cm insert always looks limp. These are cut a fraction small on purpose — use a 50 x 50 feather insert and it fills out properly.
03 — The colour
Clay, not orange
Terracotta goes wrong when it leans bright. This is a dusty, greyed clay that sits next to oak and off-white without shouting.
